both are hypocritical actions? indulgences were sold by the Catholic Church to raise money, so they advertised buying insulgences as a get out of hell card. and the sale of carbon credits could be seen as equally hypocritical and ineffective. how can you pay someone else not to pollute? do any companies or people have a pre existing right to release yet ore carbon in to the atmosphere? and cc has been criticized for not working
