d1 = s*t = 42*1 = 42 miles
d2 = 42*0.5 = 21 miles
21cos(45) = 14.85
21sin(45) = 14.85
how far is he from its first position???
.: sqrt( (42+14.85)^2 + (14.85)^2 ) = 81.76 miles

then the graph is really all you need :), if the outside angle made is 45degrees, what would be the adjacent one? or its complimentary
