For a basic idea about a chemical reaction, u may consider the following Reagent A + Reagent B +... ---> Product C + Product D And here, ENERGY and MASS must be conserved. I hope you know about, conservation of mass and energy, it means the total energy/mass should be the same on both sides of the equation.
