please find the equation for the following word problem: Betty started her bike ride at her friends house which was 4 miles from home. She left from home at a rate of 10 miles per hour.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there anymore to the problem? it seems like there is more to be said

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know, that's why i'm confused. i have to find the equation, draw the graph, and write the table.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm like it doesnt say "how long did it take her to get home" or anything like that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well thats not what im looking for really... i just need the equation. i mean, i know how long it took her cuz thats just a ratio (24 minutes), but i dont see how that would help write the equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what was the equation you found to get to 24 minutes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just cross multiplied 60/10 x/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the answer was 24 correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so set your cross multiplication equal to 24 and i believe that will be you equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm talking about a linear equation...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok that was not stated in the question. but i belive that will still be the same because when x is to a single power it is a linear equation
