(x^2)(x^2-8x+7) Can you show me how to multiply

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@sdgrey1 what is your question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need to know how to multiply.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You should get:\[7 x^2 - 8 x^3 + x^4\] and remember|dw:1366333088084:dw| hope i helped!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer in my book gave me x^4-8x^3+8x^2-8x+7 but i don't know how they got the +8x^2 part.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not sure either. did you copy the terms correctly? make sure you dont have any typos.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i missed a step. its (x^2+1)(x^2-8x+7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in that case this is the answer:\[7 - 8 x + 8 x^2 - 8 x^3 + x^4\] |dw:1366333516635:dw| you would multiply the terms like in the picture and after you should get that answer
