\[m=\frac{ y _{2} - y_{1} }{ x_{2} - x_{1} }\] Then plug it in: \[m=\frac{ 8.50 - 4.25 }{ 7-2 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[m=\frac{ 4.25 }{ 5 } = 0.85\] Now that you know the slope, use the point-slope formula: \[y-y _{1}=m(x-x _{1})\] Just replace the y1 and x1 with either (4.25,2) or (8.50,7) You should get the answer.
