Help please. In the figure, △ABC ~ △GFE, ∡ABD ≅ ∡DBC, and ∡GFH ≅ ∡HFE. Solve for x. Choices: x = 11 1/4 x = 9/10 x = 18 x = 4 1/4

Here is the problem.

Why is this different? Please demonstrate your solution. Note: "Demonstrate" does not mean "Is the answer 12?" Show some work that can be construed as your own.

still stuck wid this q ha

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

u need to setup a proportion for solving this. use below : "If two triangles are similar, then the ratio of their angle-bisectors equals the ratio of their corresponding sides."

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

let me knw if u dont get it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok I will see what I can do. I am not sure I did it right but I was thking the correct answer is the first one (x=11 1/4). Is that correct?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

thats incorrect. u might have done some calculation mistake.. check again

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

remember, we must setup a proportion wid corresponding sides.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok I did check my calculations, I am now getting the last answer (x = 4 1/4). Is that correct?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

thats perfect ! knowing how to setup proportion for similar triangles is very important. u shoudl master these ok..

Thank you for your help.
