A circle with its center of the shortest side ON the triangle is tangent to the other sides of the triangle guessing that should be 'on' not 'of' really hard to draw... |dw:1366360679746:dw|

so what would be the radius?

OpenStudy (perl):

to tangents to a circle from an external points are congruent , therefore you have an isosceles triangle , with sides 12 and 12

OpenStudy (perl):

you can use trigonometry, but its a bit complicated. the answer should be 4 . i did tan ( 90 - arctan(9/12) ) = r / 3
