Homeostasis is a relatively stable state of equilibrium between the different but interdependent elements of an organism. This refers to the internal balance and stability of an organism.

For example, when you feel hot, your body tends to sweat so it can cool off. If you sweat for a long time, you start to become thirsty and you want to drink. When you drink, you replenish the water that your body has lost. This enables you to withstand a long hot summer.
