what is the piecewise form of f(x)=|3x+3|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To find this, we simply take the absolute value sign away which leaves f(x) = 3x+3 or f(x) = -3x-3 (the same way we solve absolute value equations) We can also find a root at x=-1 because in either of the functions we ended up with, if x=-1, then f(x) =0 Which yields |dw:1366374967076:dw| Because this is an absolute value type deal, the equal to can be placed with the greater than sign, the less than sign, or a whole different function f(x)=0 at x=-1
