algebra 1

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

what did you get

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if you're not sure, then think about starting with $100 then add on the amount the driver gets paid per km

OpenStudy (anonymous):

daily pay P = the amount of money he makes on that day. That should be the sum of $100 for each day and the money for kilometers he makes (0.2 *k )

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so you start with 100 then you add on 0.20k because this is the amount the driver gets paid per km k ex: if k = 3 then the driver drove 3 km and you add on 0.20*3 = 0.60 to 100 to get 100.60, which is the total pay

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

(Total Pay) = (Starting Base Pay) + (Variable Pay) (Total Pay) = (100) + (0.20k) p = 100 + 0.20k p = 0.20k + 100

Thank you for explaining!
