OpenStudy (anonymous):

When you flip a coin, what is the probability that it will come up tails? 1 1/2 1/4 1/8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it is 1/2

thomaster (thomaster):

how many sides does a coin have

OpenStudy (anonymous):

two

thomaster (thomaster):

then probably one of the two sides will be facing up, So the probability is 1/2 or 50%

sam (.sam.):

yeah its 50%, but if you calculate the force applied to the coin, the angular momentum, period, and the air resistance, then you'll know it's head or tails :P

thomaster (thomaster):

unless you use a cheat coin where one of the two sides have been made heavier so that the coin always ends up heads or tails :P
