OpenStudy (anonymous):

@amistre64

OpenStudy (amistre64):

What number multiplied by the IQR equals the difference between the medians of the two sets? \[n(IQR) = |m1-m2|\] the IQR is: -8 the medians are-18 and 30

OpenStudy (amistre64):

"stats" .. lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 8 is the answer?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

maybe; what is the difference from m1 to m2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12

OpenStudy (amistre64):

-18 to 30 is a difference of 48 or am i reading that "-" incorrectly

OpenStudy (amistre64):

and besides 12/-8 is not 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there both positives

OpenStudy (amistre64):

then 12 is fine; n = 12/IQR

OpenStudy (amistre64):

IQR is -8 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no just 8

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well, im sure you got the process figured out by now; just use the proper values and youll be fine :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks

sam (.sam.):

lol :P @amistre64
