I really don't get this question. Can you please help? "The circle graph at the right shows the results of a time study in which participants recorded how they spent their time over a 24-h period. 1. What is the measure of the central angle that represents the time spent on each activity? a. sleep, b. food, c. work, d. errands, e. entertainment, f. other Sleep= 31%, food= 9%, work= 20%, errands=7%, entertainment= 18%, other= 15%"

OpenStudy (nubeer):

a) Sleep = (percentage/100)* 360

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why?

OpenStudy (nubeer):

which part?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why is it sleep?

OpenStudy (nubeer):

hmm.. bcos ur part (a) says to find the angle for sleeping part and then for food and so on.. i just told u for sleep.. this way u have to do for others too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OH. I have to do that on each one of them?

OpenStudy (nubeer):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it also says round to the nearest tenth where necessary.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since it's percentage, would i put .31 in the calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, for before all of them, put a decimal? Or are there certain ones that are different?

OpenStudy (nubeer):

for everyone u have to put decimal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in the front of each one, though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, am I trying to find the degree of each angle by multiplying this?

OpenStudy (nubeer):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kay. Thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um. I got 1.116?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@nubeer

OpenStudy (nubeer):

111.6?

OpenStudy (nubeer):

when u put decimal u dont have to divide by 100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh. So, that's only when I don't put a decimal divide by 100?

OpenStudy (nubeer):

yes.. divide by 100 in percentage is only for putting decimal.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now I got it. :) do I leave it like that? I don't think I round up.

OpenStudy (nubeer):

u have to round it up to nearest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, just leave it as 111?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Saisaith do I just leave it as 111?

OpenStudy (nubeer):

112 i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To round up, wouldn't 6 have to be a higher number?

OpenStudy (nubeer):

well if number is less then 5 round backward.. if greater then 5 u round it forward.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohmygosh. okay. thankyou :)

OpenStudy (nubeer):

you're welcome..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

best response*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, 32.4 would just be 32?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or would it be left the same?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@nubeer

OpenStudy (nubeer):

yes.. sorry was away for a min.

OpenStudy (saisaith):

Sorry was working on some stuff but nubeer knows what he's talking about :)
