(a) find an equation of the asymptotes under this scenario
(b) If the vertex of the path of the alpha particles is 11 cm from the center of the hyperbola, find the model that describes the path of the particle.

the one branch of deflected alpha particles looks like the drawing.

a) would be y= +or- x
b) would be x^2/121 - y^2/121 = 1 x>or= to 0

b is just the formula for the hyperbola where the transverse axis is the x axis and the
origin is set(0,0)
