My question is:
Identify and sketch the curfvce given by the equation\[-x ^{2}-2x+4y ^{2}-8y-1=0\]
OpenStudy (tkhunny):
You must Complete the Square a couple of times. Go!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
then what will i get?
OpenStudy (tkhunny):
You will get a form and expression that, if it is familiar, will make it trivial to identify the graph and to draw the graph. Let's see it.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
is it a circle?

Maybe. If you complete the square for both x and y, you will know IF it is a circle and if so, where it is centered AND its radius!

I have another question..

OpenStudy (tkhunny):
Did you get the last one?
For the trigonometric location, I might be tempted just to substitute t = 0, pi/6, pi/4, pi/3, pi/2, 2ip/3, etc -- and just see what pops out.

yup

how about part a and b?
OpenStudy (tkhunny):
You're not paying attention very well. The procedure I suggested will do all of A, B, and C. Go!
