In 1952, a human heart, was found in a trash can, covered in blood. The heart was persevred in a jar for later testing. In 2009, a life-long inmate told a cell mate about how he tore a man's heart out in a fight over a girl friend. You are the forensic lab techinician assigned to the case. You do not have any samples of the supposed victim's DNA, you do have access to the man's grandchild. What testing protocol would you use to identify the victim?
Is the grandchild the victim's? If so.... then you would get DNA from the grandchild and DNA from the heart, You would then run the DNA on an agar gel by electrophoresis. Some of the bands from the grandchild's DNA will match some of the DNA from the heart if the people are related.... hope this helps
Thank you so much!(: & yes I figued that the grandchild is the victims.
ok glad i could help!
