Well, start with using the transitional words and phrases that you know, then go back through and make changes if you see you are being repetitive. For example:

Repetitive:
I like cats because cats are fluffy. In addition, they are generally much cleaner than dogs since they can use a litter box. In addition, they don't slobber all over the place like many dogs do.

Better:
I like cats because cats are fluffy. In addition, they are generally much cleaner than dogs since they can use a litter box. Furthermore, they don't slobber all over the place like many dogs do.

You can also remedy repetitiveness by removing excess transitions. Since in the above example slobbering could be easily associated with cleanliness we could put them together without the transition:
I like cats because cats are fluffy. In addition, they are generally much cleaner than dogs since they can use a litter box and they don't slobber all over the place like many dogs do.

Of course, this example is only dealing with additive transitions. I have no idea what you are writing, so I don't know if you are looking for additive, adversative, causal, or sequential transitions, or a mix.
