There are well-known classes of problems that are intractably difficult for computers, and other classes that are provably undecidable by any computer. Does this mean that AI is impossible?

OpenStudy (jagatuba):

This is a very subjective question with no right or wrong answer. I love this subject and would love to discuss it and share my opinions with you, but I want to hear what you think first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you first have to define what you mean by AI. AI is a field which keeps increasing in popularity and several things have been achieved over the past years. Even though i don't know much about the intractable problem classes and computability in general i would be glad to discuss it more thoroughly ;)
