well, let me guess: first, no brain damage, because his brain can process the synapses fired by the heat-and-pain sensor. the fact that the sensor is firing means we can rule out sensor damage too. the afferent synapses are definitely firing, so no (sensory) nerve damage either. i think the interneuron relays the info from the sensory nerve to the spinal nerve, so fact this person can interpret the sensation as pain means it should be working too. the person cannot move the hand even though the brain and the reflexes are screaming "move the hand". so i think there is motor damage.
