Help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8a^3 + c^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ParthKohli

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i want to know how to do it. well i do know, but its another way.

Parth (parthkohli):

\[a^3 + b^3 = (a+b)(a^2 - ab + b^2)\]So... is that a good hint?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i already have that.

Parth (parthkohli):

Now you can write your expression as \((2a)^3 + c^3\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok got that too.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

after that is where i got confused.

Parth (parthkohli):

\[a^3 + b^3 = (a + b)(a^2 -ab + b^2)\]\[(2a)^3 + c^3 = (2a + c)((2a)^2 - (2a)(c) + c^2)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i just did that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i assume we have to simplify more? right?

Parth (parthkohli):

Yes.

Parth (parthkohli):

You can write \((2a)^2 = 4a^2\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got it :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i see my mistake

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i wrote it as (2a + c)(2a^2 - 2ac + c^2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but it was supposed to be (2a + c)((2a)^2 - 2ac + c^2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks ^.^

Parth (parthkohli):

Indeed!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you @ParthKohli :D

Parth (parthkohli):

Nay problem. 8-)
