A physics textbook (mass 0.5000 kg) is attached to the end of a 1.000-m string of negligible mass and whirled in a horizontal circular path. If the maximum tension the string can withstand is 350.0 N, what is the fastest the book can be twirled without breaking the string?

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

The centripetal force cannot exceed 350.0 N. You have the mass, the radius, and the force, now just plug them in to the centripetal force formula and solve.
