Sam Stevens and four other friends want to schedule a 6-hour fishing trip on Lake Ontario with Reel Easy Sport Fishing. The cost for five people is $445. The cost for six people is $510. How much money per person will Sam and each of his friends save if they can find one more friend to go on their fishing trip? Assume that they will split the total cost equally.

Ok, so if you have 445 between 5 people, what would be the rate per person? and if you have 510 between 6 people, what would be the rate per person?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For 5 people, it would be 89 per person and for 6, it would be 85 per person

OpenStudy (anonymous):

perfect! now what's the difference between the two?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A $4 difference

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep! That mean each of sam and his friends save $4 a piece :)

I get it, Thank you:-)
