28m^2=-8m

geerky42 (geerky42):

Note that 28m² = m(28m) = -8m Now cancel m out. 28m = -8 Divide both sides by 28. m = -8/28 = -2/7

geerky42 (geerky42):

Is this clear?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So... the answer would be (0, -2/7)?

geerky42 (geerky42):

0 and -2/7, yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So why are only 2 of the m's cancelled out? Why not the one next to 28?

geerky42 (geerky42):

m² = m·m So if you divide both sides by m, you will get 28m = -8

OH! Right. Sorry, I was thinking straight. Thanks!!
