IIdentify the compound verb in the following sentence: She returned to school, earned good grades, and graduated.
@jreed Welcome to Open Study! :) Now for your question. First, what Is a Compound Verb? A compound verb, or compound predicate, is used when the subject does more than one thing. You could write separate sentences for each verb, but if the subject is the same, that’s just not necessary. eg. John paints beautifully. + John sells his work from time to time. = John paints beautifully and sells his work from time to time. I think the compound verbs in your sentence are returned earned and graduated. I hope this helps. :) Credits: http://grammar.yourdictionary.com/sentences/15-sentences-using-compound-subjects-and-compound-verbs.html
