Sorry, but I forgot to say the 3x2 is actually 3x to the 2nd power

no thats just step one... all you do is you look at the problem, "3x^2-3x-60" looking at that there is a leading coefficient of 3 (3x^2) so you want to get the x^2 by itself, to do that you divide it all by 3 which gives you the 3(x^2-x-20)
