It used to be medals to anyone. I liked it better that way.

I think he's referring to the 'good question' feature. There was a feature where you could give medals to questions themselves.

"good" questions are rather unimportant if the asker is just sitting there waiting for someone to do all the work for them.  If they participate in the process, then they will gain the opportunity to get a medal ....

Amistre has a point.

But I liked the "good question" button. Being able to give medals for good questions - not just the routine ones, possibly from school work, but questions people really wonder about - was nice. I wouldn't mind seeing it back.

Back in the day, there used to be a choice for giving a medal to questions but scores went up too fast and people would spam for more medals.

It was sort of ambiguous and when we changed to the smartscore, it went away.  Could revive it...
