Is a triangle with sides of length 6 ft., 21 ft., 23 ft. a right triangle? Explain. The dimensions on the triangle do not match with the right triangle’s formula, aU2 + bU2 = cU2 (or pretty close to it). And if it doesn’t then it isn’t a right triangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well you can see if it is a right triangle by using the pythagorean theorem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but what would be the hypotenuse?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the hypotenuse would be the longest side i believe.

check if 23^2 = 21^2 + 6^2
