Find the values of 7x from second equation first: \[7x - 2y = -77\] \[7x = 2y - 77\] Just plug in this value in equation first in place of 7x there..

x=-9 and y=7. You can check your calculations with this info....on the explanation of waterineyes I think she meant to find the value of x in the second equation and then substitute it into the first equation....that should work....
