How do Newton's 3 laws apply to an egg drop?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Newton's 3rd Law: Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. This means that all forces come in pairs! One force never acts alone. In an egg drop, the egg hits the ground and applies a force on the group proportional to its mass, by Newton's 2nd Law (F = ma). However, the ground exerts an equal and oppositely-directed force on the egg. |dw:1366686378106:dw|
