What are the differences in using a water bath vs an incubator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for one thing, an incubator does not necessarily use a water bath to control the temperature. for example, i didn't hatch underwater.

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

incubator is like oven it wil maintain the desired temperature:) water batch is something where you boil the water and due to that some heat is coming out that you will utilize for ur work!!! usually bio specimens are kept in incubator
