can someone help with this problem? 8x-4(2x-5)-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are you trying to do lol...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you cant just post random numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

understanding how to do add/subtract like terms-distributive property

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well you just posted an equation with no answer i dont know what you are trying to do with it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you trying to simplify it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or expand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

answer? trying to find the answer I think???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

answer is 18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It should say what they want you to do with the question. Like Solve for x, solve for y, simplify, expand etc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the equation equal to 18 or is x equal to 18 or is y equal to 18 you're very confusing lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[8x-4(2x-5)-2\] \[ 8x -8x + 20 - 2\] \[20 - 2\] \[18\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im doing algebra and i am confused..lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

go on khanacademy nobody is gonna be able to teach you algebra through chat

OpenStudy (anonymous):

go watch vids on linear equations, distributive property
