This is an Geometric Problem A lot is in the shape of a triangle . One side is 32 feet longer than the shortest side while the third side is ten feet shorter than twice the shorter side . The perimeter of the lot is 238 feet . Find the length of the sides of the lot .

ill do it right now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so i will teach you, you have to read word problems so you can understand em nxt time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They said one side is 32 ft longer than the shortest side (lets label it c)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so we'll say that side is 32+c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since its 32 ft plus the length of c (shortest side)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the third side is TWO times C's length and then minus 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So that would be 2*C - 10 ft for the third side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

throw it all into an algabraic equation like such 238=32+c+c+2c-10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since perimeter is the total length in feet all added together

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C is equal to 54 feet. Meaning your shortest side is 54 Your longest side is 2*54-10 which is 98 And your 2nd longets side is 32+54 = 86
