sine the base angles of the triangle are equal, it means you have an isosceles triangle......an in an isosceles triangle, two sides are equal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since your base is below, then it means the other two sides are equal

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well the triangle is isosceles... so the base angles are equal and the sides opposite the base angles are equal. So you can say 3x = 4x - 2 jut solve for x.. when you know the value of x, you can find AB

OpenStudy (anonymous):

with that said, you can say that 3x=4x -2 4x-3x =2 x=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that isnt the right answer i check it and it wasnt right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so after finding the value for x, you can now substitute in the length of AB.....which is 3x .......so you then have 3 x 2=6

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

its 3x..so 3*2 = 6

thanks :)
