3x(2x -1) = 0

Hello, Maria :) when a product of two numbers is zero... \[\large ab = 0\] It means at least one of them must have been zero, right? \[\huge a = 0 \ \ \ \ or \ \ \ \ \ b = 0\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6x^2 - 3x=0 x=(3+/- (3))/12 so x=0 or x= 1/2

Hi, Leena, two things :D ONE Why would you distribute when it's already factored? TWO Why would you use quadratic formula when it's already factored? Truly, there may be many ways to solve a given problem, but some of them may be substantially harder than the others. :)

thanks for your help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@terenzreignz yes i truly agree bt this was a method by which one can solve the equation by quadratic formula and it is easier to do it that way cuz it is direct formula application and also there is another easy way by which 3x=0 so x=0 and 2x-1= 0 so x=1/2

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

General methods are good, but they will not be the best method to use in every situation, @leena1996

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@terenzreignz yes i do agree completely....but trying out different ways is good and then if we dont get the solution you must catch up with the basic formulae....

okay
