Jesse drove from Los Angeles to Las Vegas...a total distance of 463 km. He used 12 gallons of gas on the trip. Find the gas mileage, in miles per gallon, of Jesse's car. (Hint: 1 km ≈ 0.62 mi). (Round to the nearest whole number and type your answer like this example: 12 miles/gallon.)

First step is to convert the km into miles. What do you get?
Simply do 463 times 0.62 to get it into miles
1km=.62miles set problem up in proportion 1km/.62m=463/x solve for x to determine distance in miles m=277.8 then divide miles by gallons to determine miles per gallon miles per gallon =23.15
