can someone help me with this??

@terenzreignz

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

I'm pretty sure the word "lengthy" constitutes an opinion.

OpenStudy (perl):

a) it isnt a random sample because some kids might leave school earlier (or later) , and there is no indication he did a random sampling either

OpenStudy (perl):

b) it is biased because he asked the question 'is the lengthy school day' , which gives the impression that it is a lengthy day , or it is well known it is lengthy

OpenStudy (perl):

the question presupposes that it is a lengthy day, but you want the questioner to decide that

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

As for c, the number who answered no is 54 -51 which is 3 divide 3 by 54 and multiply by 100, to get the percent.

OpenStudy (perl):

he just surveyed people convenient that he met. this is an observational study of convenience, not a random sample .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so b would be biased because of the word 'lengthy'? so in this case my answer would be 'This is a biased question, because it makes the opinion about the day be long.'

OpenStudy (perl):

yes

OpenStudy (perl):

it is not random because there are many people who are left out of the sample, people who stay later , who leave early, who didnt show up (sick, playing hookey)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So is this the right answer's a. This is not a random sample, because some children may get out of school late (or early), and there is no indication he did a random sampling. b. This is a biased question, because it makes the opinion about the day be long. c. Divide 3 by 54 and multiply by 100, to get the percent. 54/3=18 18*100=

@Meepi

OpenStudy (perl):

c) (54-51)/54 = 3/54

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the percent is 0.055555555555556

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or 18?
