Can you help me with this one square root problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the 5 in the radical as well?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if m=36 then multiply 36 by 4 and take the square root of that product then add 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no the +5 isn't in the square root thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think the answer is 17? But i don't know how to get that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

36X4=144 sqrt of 144 =12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12+5=17

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the answer WOULD be 17 then right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you
