I need to know what kind of test I would use to find for these questions:

We are interested in whether boys have lower GPAs than girls. In order to examine this question, we obtain the GPAs for 16 girls and 11 boys. At age 14, do boys have significantly lower GPAs than girls?

Now we are interested in whether GPA increases or decreases as students progress through high school. In order to examine this question, we obtain GPAs from 45 children at age 18 and 19?

For the first one, I though it would be a Independent Samples t-test because "means between two unrelated groups on the same continuous, dependent variable".

For the second one, because we're testing "whether there are any significant differences between the means of two or more independent (unrelated) groups" Since we want to know if the difference in age makes a difference in GPA.

These may be easy to answer but I have to be extremely certain they are right.
