OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is rs?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

rupees

OpenStudy (gorv):

(2n-1)^2 = 4n^2 - 4n + 1 = 4(n^2 - n) + 1 If n is even, n^2 and n are both even, so n^2 - n is even If n is odd, n^2 and n are both odd, so n^2 - n is even So, whatever the value of n, n^2-n is even, so can be written as 2k (where k is an integer) Hence 4(2k) - 1 = 8k-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@gorv thank u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@gorv plse see the solution again when we put 2k= 4(n^2 - n) in 4(n^2 - n) + 1, it is coming 8k+1 not 8k-1
