Why was it not necessary to drop the atomic bomb on Japan? I need 4 reasons why. I already have 3 * Japan was destroyed and many people died * Pearl Harbor suffered the same way as Japan * The 2nd atomic bomb wasn't necessary either because, the first bomb did enough damage I can't think of any more and I NEED ONE MORE! HELP!!!

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

Because Japan would have soon surrendered even if there was no atomic bombs.

OpenStudy (tainted):

It was necessary to force Japan to surrender and They did it so we would not have to take over Japan with soldiers on land because we would have many more casualties

We were already diverging onto their homeland, they would have surrenered fairly soon with WAY less killing

The atomic bomb also caused radiation and to this day there is still radiation found there and that did a lot more damage than good.
