what is the multiplicative inverse of 2+3i/2-3i

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a. -5-12i/13 b. 13-12i/13 c. -13+12i/13 or d. 5-12i/13 i dont know how i got those answers but when i did it four times i got four different but similair answers? crazy!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know whatt multiplicative inverse is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

of complex numbers yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so - first step 2-3i/2+3i are we good up-to this step?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(2-3i)(2+3i)/(2+3i)(2-3i)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes so the result [2*2-3*(-3)]+[2*3+(-3)*2]i/13 do you understand what I justdid?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's wrong right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's because you made a mistake in the second step it shouldn't be like this (2-3i)(2+3i)/(2+3i)(2-3i) rather it's (2-3i)(2-3i)/(2+3i)(2-3i) do you see why?
