Fruit flies have a diploid number of 8, and honeybees have a diploid number of 32. In which case will crossing over have greater impact on genetic variation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in the 32 one; choromoses divisions nucleus undergoes so many successive diviions so crossing over occurs :)

In the honeybee. The more diploid cells, the more intermixing there is, and therefore a greater impact on the variation of the genes. Hope I helped!
