Question

Why is OS so slow? Not enough server capacity?
Every day around this time OS is very laggy, scripts keep loading forever, answers take 10 minutes to be posted. It's very annoying

When i reload a page, first i get a screen with 3 spinning loading signs, then after 10sec - 2 minutes i finally get a page with sometimes only the current question on the right side, sometimes only the questions on the left exept the current question keeps loading forever. Everytime all names are orange, smartscores not loaded. On the mobile version it's even worse. Sometimes OS just goes down for an hour or more.....

This site is so slow because it's much too script dependent.

Loading that much AJAX/JavaScript slows down your browser, and causes lag.

Besides, since it's so script dependent, when one script crashes the whole damn site does.

So that's the problem.

Also, some scripts are overused, like isn't is obvious that checking your SmartScore every 1 second would cause lag ? :p


And the mobile is even worse due to the fact that- well, of course, not only is the fact that a phone is generally not as fast as a computer, but just the fact that the mobile is done in a really junkie way: it loads the current, so it loads the desktop one and THEN it spends the whole time then putting a mobile one on top of it taking the desktop's data.

well that explains alot... they could easily make this less script dependend. It loads math/latex scripts on questions about history >.<

+ their sever ALSO goes down so much, as well... so their server probably isn't good enough for the large traffic this site gets :3
