To solve the equation t² - t = 12 by factoring, you would use t(t - 1) = 12 t(t - 1) - 12 = 0 (t - 4)(t + 3) = 0

No we can't just tell you but we can give you a hint: If the product of factors is 0 then one of the factors is 0.
