How many solutions does the following system have? y = -2/3 x + 3 and 2x + 3y = 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a. one solution b. no solution c. infinitely many solutions d. cannot be determined

OpenStudy (john_es):

Answer (c). You can prove it with the first equation, \[y=-2x/3+x\Rightarrow3y=-2x+9\Rightarrow2x+3y=9\] But this equation is equal to the second, so there are inifite solutions.
