Also, two books that have the same symbolism in them are, "The Yellow Wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman and "The Awakening" by Kate Chopin. The reason these two are similiar is because they are both on the rights for women. In both stories, each woman escapes her own little prison and finds themselves.
