Can someone help me? I had a question like this that I had a a lot of trouble with, but I figured it out? This one is different Though? Can anyone help? Thanks.. :) Jamin wants to paint a wall in his bedroom. In order to know how much paint to buy, he first needs to know the approximate area. There is a window in the middle of the wall, so he'll only need to paint the shaded part shown. How many square feet is Jamin planning to paint? [Note: The wall and window are both rectangular.] https://media.glynlyon.com/g_pal_2011/7/img_test_composite_figure_rectangles.gif

It's 8*6 - 1.5*2=45 ft2

so you can find the area of the bigger square.....then the area of the smaller square...and subtract what you get of the smaller square from the bigger square. Plus recognize the difference between inches and feet with the 18in..convert that to ft first
