4a+6b basically turns out to be (6a+3b) + (-2a+3b) (distributing the -1) and then add like terms
OpenStudy (anonymous):
(6a+3b)-(2a-3b) the common numbers are (6a-2a) aand (3b-3b) so it would be 4a because (3b-3b) cancels out to 0 so the answer is b-4a
