OpenStudy (nincompoop):

confusion to clarity is what science is all about: agree or disagree

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

is this a maths question?

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

math is a perfect science. one cannot do science without the aid of math

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

I disagree. Though science strives to bring clarity to a world full of confusion, the deeper you delve the more confusion you create; therefore, the pursuit of science is to attempt an understanding of the non-linear world around us. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i agree as soon a we get knowledge we become free

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

name a discovery that isn't under scrutiny?

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

chaos theory-no one can deny it =P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

????????????????????

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

@009infinity (awesome name btw) look up a bifurcation diagram or the logistics function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont under stand what r u talking abut? "bifurcation diagram"?

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

I can state an instance whether the application of chaos-theory can determined… got any idea?

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

It is hard to explain :/ uhm if you look into chaos theory in relation to mathematics you will find this particular specialty.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaos_theory

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

she was referring to the Rössler attractor

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

and @nincompoop not a clue... I couldn't find one to stump my teacher before though.

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

Also I don't think I have seen that nomenclature either

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

the energy of the universe = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not a new thing to tell we have discussed it a long time ago @nincompoop

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

I do not have enough background on that topic to make an argument :(

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

we can device a way to stump your professor :) reveal how spooky the universe is

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

Probably not I'm pretty sure he certified himself as a genius. He came up with an application to knitting...

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

btw, I am going to write about confusion to clarity this is why I want to ask… and for those who just gave a yes or no without even giving me their side are no help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can prove that univrse doesnot exist at all

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

proof by demonstration… if you cease to exist, the cosmos will no longer exist, in your mind. same goes to everyone. but that is void of the physical reality

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

I asked about science, not our modern view of philosophy's underpinnings

OpenStudy (anonymous):

science only exist to physical reality but adhyatm go beyond that.............. adhyatm is father of all science..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or mother choose what u like

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

science as we know it now… if you want to argue that way then all attempts to explain the surroundings by religion is science

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

ughh can we please separate science and religion... it is rather annoying when the two occur in the same thread

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok going in terms of science can any one tell what is cosmic ray ?

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

Not my field/area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or cosmic energy?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do we ever got to know what ur dream is actully

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

let me cite you an example of what science really is: Demokritus posited that things are made up of very tiny particles referred to as "atomos," which is utterly different from the other views of philosophers, like Aristotle and Plato (who believed that it was made up of four combinations of earth, water wind and fire), in his time. Now, ask yourself how long has it been that Demokritus' idea been able to put to test? There's a difference between musing what may be, and finding out what they really are.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

I can go on with many other examples

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i m not saying that scince in worth nothing bt the theories which come forard are well known and explained in adhyatam

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

things in dreams, arts, religion, philisophy cannot be tested by scientific experimentation and thus they are not science. they are beyond science. science is concerned only with the natural world around us and within that boundary it tries to bring clarity of things

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

you can apply science to these iff you think psychology is a science

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

dreams are a product of things in the natural world (synapses in the neurons), but to waste our time looking for their meaning is maybe something that may be put into the same category as astrology.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

yeah exactly psychology involves opinions of ppl so its like astrology oly

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

if*

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

btw, I have Hymns of Rygveda in my to-read list let us not fully execute psychology now… they're empirical too. psychobabble on the other hand, can be permanently deleted from the recycle bin.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

and @FibonacciChick666 this is what you were talking about http://homepages.ulb.ac.be/~gaspard/G.Roessler.Encycl.05.pdf correct?

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

religion makes claim that can be examined by science - creation of the world, first man to walk earth, virgin birth, I can go on…

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

some overlaps are there agree.. i think we can justify science brings clarity if we stick to its boundaries. guess just we need to be cautious on what we seek from science. for ex- if i wanted to understand life cycle of butterfly or something.. i can turn to biology and get clarity. il be satisfied. but if i wanted to understand the purpose of its life, then science cannot help. overall i will agree science takes u from ignorant to more aware being. it brings clarity on things that are defined under it. i feel arguing the other way results only when we let nonscience things deal with science. science can deal with a theory on life creation like iron sulfide hypothesis or lipid membrane hypothesis but linking science to creation of world as said in scriptures is not fair. those scriptures of religion are primitive and very old and static.

OpenStudy (goformit100):

First of all for solving this question do you know the conception of : ♥Agree or Disagree♥ And after doing that, I personally guarantee that you can on your own solve this particular question. I personally believe, the happiness of solving Mathematics is much better.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

i think we all having a pleasant conversation helping to put something good for essay... we are not trying to solve things lol

OpenStudy (dwelsher):

disagree
